Bright Ideas: Clinical Teaching
May 25 @ 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm
Session 5: Clinical Teaching
Subdeanery invite you to attend our brand new ‘Bright Ideas’ Initiative – A monthly online lunchtime session for GP Tutors/teaching practices (1pm-1.45pm) on the last Tuesday of every month to begin in Jan 2021. These sessions will be themed and facilitated by tutors who will share their ‘bright ideas’ in an informal, conversational setting. The aim of these sessions is to foster an online Community of Practice of GP Educators, engaging in a process of collective learning in a shared domain of human endeavour: GP Education.
We are delighted to welcome this month’s speaker, Dr Grainne Kearney, GP, GP tutor, Family Medicine Lead, Clinical Lecturer in the School of Medicine, QUB and co-author of ‘Experience Based Learning (ExBL): Clinical teaching for the twenty-first century’. Dr Kearney will kindly summarise the key concepts of this paper for practice teams in the North Belfast and South West Federation. It is an opportunity for practice teams in North Belfast and South West Federations to collectively reflect on their experiences of clinical teaching in the twenty-first century and during a global pandemic. Together we are creating a Community of Practice for General Practice Teams supporting Medical Education.’
